No, that’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is that somewhere in the Minnesota NG Walz had connections within the leadership, above his superior CSM Julin. These connections not only allowed him to retire, but bent the rules to allow him out of his obligations of enlistment term, SGM Academy requirements, and loyalty to his unit/men.

He abandoned his men when they needed him—like all bad bosses in a time of crisis.
