WINE SISTERHOOD
I recently started drinking wine. Bogle Merlot. Maybe a bottle a month. My Italian grandfather made red wine, so that’s what I buy.
I had no idea what to buy. I saw the label that said Bogle Family Vineyards Merlot. I thought, oh good, a family. Might be good. It is, and it gets good reviews.
Fall Creek has a commemorative Cabernet Sauvignon honoring the heroes of the Alamo, with the Alamo Mission on the label. The grapes are grown on land once owned by Colonel William Travis, commander at the Alamo. It's now $35 a bottle, $25 after my club discount.
I've been a customer of Eduard Kroth for over 40 years. I'd visit them every 5-6 weeks. This was during my tour in Germany, it was a ten minute drive from my apartment in Traben-Trarbach.
California wines are tethered to real estate costs.
“SWANSON VINEYARDS”
Goes great with TV dinners.
Most of those brands deserve to be out of business.
Yuck.
