You are correct. Pat is no longer turning out opinion pieces and was a bit foggy at his last public event a few years ago.
Well, God bless him. I do believe he was very important to changing mainstream American conservatism away from embracing not so “free trade”, interventionism, open borders, etc. There are still country club Republican dead-enders, and the battle goes on. But at least among Republicans, populist conservatism is now the mainstream. And Pat Buchanan was certainly an important force to laying the foundation for that evolution.
