Yep. Unlike other search engines, Perplexity isn't "trained." It just uses AI to comb through the current internet. Or at least that's what it told me.
I use Perplexity daily instead of Bing or Google. Very satisfied.

My take is that Perplex does an all encompassing Bing+Google search for me within 25 seconds. What would take me 5 minutes with the query results scattered around.
Perplex is not perfect. But I like how it gently suggests follow up questions to your original query. A consumer friendly format for sure. Perplex gave me a difficult answer the other day. I responded thanks! And it said “You are welcome” ....lolllzzzz
