A couple years ago an appliance repairman’s advice to us was to hang on to your old appliances. They are better made and more reliable than the newer ones.
That seems to be true.
We have lived in our present home for 22 years come July 1.
In that time we have had 3 refrigerators, two stoves, two dishwasers, three microwaves, three washing machines and three dryers..................
Repairman said much the same. Advised me to avoid new appliances. Modern, Internet connected, Refrigerators, dishwashers, laundry machines, etc are all unreliable junk.
I have a small bar fridge from my college days. Been running continuously (except for defrosting) for almost 50 years.
Yep, my guy said: “I work on 3 yr-old refrigerators more than I work on 15 year-old ones.”
“They are better made and more reliable than the newer ones.”
and function better, esp. washers and dryers ...
Now with inflation/shrinkflation/continued outsourcing/education indoctrination/covid...
...it can/will only get worse going forward.
