Hey ya entitled trolls: now you make $0 an hour.
Sweet! And I don’t mean carmel macchiato.
Not so sure I would want to accept any food from any of these people, what a scummy looking group of dirtbags.
Man, watching that video... “A more wretched hive of scum and villainy...” comes to mind.
I feel exquisite joy when democrats suffer (especially by their own hand).
More please.
You know the old saying, ‘be careful what you wish for, you just may get it’.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!! STUPIDITY RUNS DEEP IN LEFTIES!!
LOL. People are stupid. It’s a business, not a hobby or public service.
Do tell, buttercup. Do tell...
Bwaha.
I love it when idiots get their stupidity shoved down their throats.
There is a written article on the closures here:
https://www.inquirer.com/food/restaurants/ocf-coffee-closes-ori-feibush-union-barista-20240610.html
The absolute ignorance of the employees of economics and finance is amazing.
“Simpson said the workers involved in OCF’s union campaign had considered this potential outcome but had not thought it was likely.
“There was some talk of shutting down but we genuinely believed that our connections with the community, especially in Fairmount, are so strong that he wouldn’t do it — we’re where people get their drinks and their lunch and have meetings every single day,” Simpson said. “I just think it’s really reflective of how little Ori actually cares about the community to shut down these locations.””
[snip]
“Reached by phone Monday, Feibush said OCF’s shops had always been subsidized financially by both OCF Realty, his development company, and by Feibush personally. The cafe chain’s post-pandemic contraction from six locations to three had helped stem the losses. More changes were in the works. As the leases for stores at 20th and Federal Streets and 18th and South Streets came due this summer (while Feibush manages those properties, he does not own the buildings), he had planned to consolidate those locations to a single shop on Washington Avenue. The Fairmount Avenue shop’s lease was set to expire in a couple of years.”
With the coffee shops closing it will be much easier to handle the details of the contract negotiations between management and employees going forward.
How many employees needed for each store? Zero, shops closed.
How much benefits? Zero, shops closed.
Salaries? Zero, shops closed.
The math becomes much more simple to calculate.
Ultimately who pays for Unions are the customers. The real greedy culprit here may be the sellers of DIY coffee pots at places like WalMart and Target. Some people may opt to buy a $15 coffee pot and do it at home.
The unionization solution for coffee shops would be to raise prices by about 2 bucks per coffee cup. And here would be the impact.
Coffee cup price $6.99 up to $8.99
Environmental impact fee of $1.75 if you didn’t bring your own mug
Sales tax in big city 12%
Tip auto added in 15%
Hand written tip - guilt trip time & 15% must be exceeded.
That cup of coffee can easily go over $16 total.
For less than that you can get a DIY option at WalMart and for less than that you can get scores of cups of fresh ground beans.
Thus, anyone doing the math can see that there just won’t be any need for the coffee shop by the customer anymore.
Go Woke go broke.
