Comment: I love that Elon Musk is now out there promoting Linux for desktop usage. My pessimism aside, I would love to work with someone personally to get them off of big tech companies like Microsoft and Apple.

Been meaning to “transition” myself but I Excel is far superior to anything that attempts to ape it.

Linux works fine for me for most things. I switched because over time Windows would slow down in spite of my best efforts. I’m not a techie. I even suspected a virus at times though the scans said negative. Linux is just as fast today as when it was installed (by my son).

Well it maybe time to. At least for me. Maybe I’ll dual boot Linux.

Is it difficult to do...esp for seniors? Not sure my hub would like it, or could do it.

Microsoft Edge is still slow to start.

It should start in under two seconds.

The continuous automatic screen shots is a means to negate encrypted networks, including VPNs.

While the data may be encrypted in the pipeline, whats on your screen is not and if Microsoft and other Deep State minions can capture that, the encryption doesn't matter.

We need encrypted visual displays, where your monitor presents images that aren't "true" to what's actually feeding through the video card.

Welcome to the ‘90s, Elon.

Millions of calls to switch to Linux have occurred, and billions of MS and Apple users never listened.

Nothing is going to change, and like Android and iOS on smartphones, MS will remain dominant on desktops.

Elon’s dislike for AI is outdated and it will become (or has become) part of everyday life. Elon is also a big user of AI in many of his projects, so, why is he complaining?

I pulled this from an ASUS ad in my email...

Power through any task with a blazing-fast Qualcomm® Snapdragon® X Elite 12-Core Processor, featuring Qualcomm® AI Engine for on-device AI processing – you can generate images or get answers in seconds.

I may be reading more into this than is correct but this looks like (fake) AI is being incorporated into the machines as well. At the least it looks like a segment of the processor is being dedicated to the (fake) AI.

I use Linux and Windows daily. Some of the best hardware/software engineering packages are Windows only. I don't see that changing.

I was just telling a brother yesterday that I was considering doing just that - dumping windows and getting Linux.

A kinda dumb question...would our financial stuff be safer using Linux. (I might be able to convince hub to switch, if that is the case)

I’m assuming that my Windows 7 is safe from this... Crossed fingers.

Maybe he can convert his Tesla business to a Linux desktop business. The plant is already in Texas. Business opportunity!

Perhaps if Musk could develop a Linux distro that was a easily customizable for enhanced efficiency as Windows is (and "needs") then it could obtain major share in the desktop market.
