I just had an Italian Combo sub [1/2 a grinder] from a shop near Bradley Airport in Ct. It was huge, almost 4” thick with varieties of meat ,cheese ,peppers, onions. I could only eat half of the half, best grinder ever. My jaw hurts from trying to open wide enough to get a bite. I can only go there occasionally because they are addicting , how they can make money on them I don’t know.

That sounds fantastic. Believe it or not, there was a time when Subway made very good subs. Not on par with what you’d get at an Italian deli but still good enough that you’d look forward to eating one. Of course this was many years ago, like around 1990 or so.

A good grinder is hard to find. My goto closed years ago, the owner died of cancer, she was a good proprietor, knew her customers, her “boardwalk” was one of the best. Yes it was addictive, had to limit myself to once a week. My other favorite is rumored to still be in business, a place called the Grinderman, it was on a cash only basis and only open limited hours, so worth it though.
