FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 9, 2024
Phoenix, AZ – Following today’s Arizona Supreme Court’s abortion ruling, Kari Lake released the following statement:
“In addition to covering the state of Arizona as a fair and honest journalist for 27 years, I have traveled to every corner of this state on the campaign trail. I speak to more Arizonans than anyone and it is abundantly clear that the pre-statehood law is out of step with Arizonans.
I am the only woman and mother in this race. I understand the fear and anxiety of pregnancy, and the joy of motherhood. I wholeheartedly agree with President Trump — this is a very personal issue that should be determined by each individual state and her people. I oppose today’s ruling, and I am calling on Katie Hobbs and the State Legislature to come up with an immediate common sense solution that Arizonans can support. Ultimately, Arizona voters will make the decision on the ballot come November.
As your Senator, I will OPPOSE:
– Federal funding for abortion
– Federal ban(s) on abortion
As your Senator, I will FIGHT FOR:
– Baby Bonuses
– Making adoption more accessible and affordable
– Strengthening the economy so that Mothers can AFFORD a baby
– Protecting IVF
– Extending the child tax credit
– Paid family leave
– Investing in childcare
I am not going to D.C. to legislate an issue that has been returned to the states. I am going to D.C. to secure our border, strengthen our families and help President Trump Make America Great Again.”
“No. She understands the voters of Arizona better than you do. You’d rather she lose to a Democrat and help give the Democrats a Senate majority.”
I wonder just how many people with the ‘purity’ angle are actually trolls, as I’ve done my share of trolling on Left-wing sites, just to help bring out the lunatic ideas of Leftists to the surface, so as to weaken them in November elections.
Actually, abortion has probably kept liberalism at bay. It’s why they have to import people to offset conservatism, because we have children and they don’t.
I understand your opposition to abortion. I am also opposed to abortion, but you cannot jump in whole hog and expect changes. You have to change the culture bit-by-bit to effect repair or you don’t get anywhere.
Respectfully, I think that is wishful thinking. Latest polls say 60% of the country support abortion.
Respectfully, I don't think you do.
There is no middle ground, if you allow people to be the property of the others, killing sick and old people for economic and convenience sake is next, and we don't have the luxury of waiting a couple of generations to fix it.
Look at what is happening in Europe and Canada.
We have gone from "abortion being rare and tragic" to being celebrated with hashtags in less than one generation.
America already fought one war over people being treated as property, rightfully eliminating an evil in direct conflict to our Nation's founding and our Constitution.
Abortion is based on the same legal foundation as slavery, one person owning another.
Being tolerant of abortion is literally equivalent to being tolerant of slavery.
“the people of Arizona will side with Life and the 1864 law.”
Not one chance in 100,000 is that true.
If you insist on a total ban, you will GET government paid abortions until 9 months. Politics is about the POSSIBLE, and neither Arizona nor the USA are up for a total ban.
It is stupid to even talk about the issue now, when we have a dozen powerful issues with which to bash Democrats daily. Courts should not be deciding this anyway.
These idiots will have their damnable abortions, and live in tyranny and poverty for decades to come, with thousands of pervert illegals who are willing to rape and kill them without conscience.
Yes. Agree. Abortion has always existed and unfortunately, will continue to be the birth control choice of women who don’t consider their baby a baby.
Doing errands this afternoon I was twice approached (different places) by young women with clipboards trying to gather signatures to put abortion on the Nov. ballot. It’s a single issue motivation for women voters which is sad but reality.
Both Trump and Kari got out in front of the issue which I believe was smart to do.
“Guaranteed in 10 years the Republican party will have a significant pro-choice contingent or will water down the pro-life plank so much as to be meaningless. Right now the party is going left on economic issues, and there has been an influx of gays and “former” leftists entering. If it makes up 4 or 5% of the vote, that is all it will take to swing elections and people here would sell their soul to win an election.”
It’s already happening. Trump hosted a fundraiser for homosexuals with Melania just the other day. And that loathsome Rick Grennell person is going to be in the cabinet if Trump wins.
In terms of abortion, all of the state-level ballot initiatives have passed with significant Republican support. I’ve seen so many supposedly “Christian” women who are hardline on this issue. This nation has gone badly astray.
As well as every other plank position on the far-left woke platform.
Would you rush into a burning building to save embryos?
The mark of Cain
Murderer, Death, Satan
I think I do. However, I think you don’t understand that the pro-life position is a guaranteed election loser.
If all the Republicans became pro-life, there wouldn’t be a single Republican in office. Not one. But you’d be pure, right? Democrats would be free in making America socialist, abortion right to birth, building the death camps to send conservatives to. We’d be full-on socialist with the liberal penchant of wanting to murder millions.
You can win elections to change the culture to something better, or you can be pure. That’s up to you.
Kari Lake has decided to try and change the culture and you’ve decided to be pure.
