I've noticed that for quite a while, there has been a series of television commercials for Sensodyne toothpaste where a female dentist promotes the benefits of using this product. There have been about 6-7 of these commercials. What's interesting is that only female dentists (or actors depicting a dentist) are featured wearing a white lab coat and all appear to be from a minority group e.g. black, Hispanic, Asian.
I have never seen a male dentist or a white female dentist featured in these ads. I suppose this is part of "woke" and DIE.
Anyone else have another explanation?
They are like unicorns................
i used it- but it stopped workign so well- changed to crest, then colgate both for sensitive teeth- they work well too- so if one stops working as well, try switching-
I like to think it is because darker skin tones and hair make their pearly whites appear even whiter... ;)
White Men Bad.
Destroy White Men.
Remember when Advertisers used English accents because they said they were trustworthy so what’s going on with all the blacks in TV ads are blacks the new trustworthy ,LOL
it isnt the fact that black folks are given ad jobs, it’s the fact that it’s done in a racist anti-white manner and used as a preaching tool to scold white folks and make white folks looks stupid, especially white men-
We didn’t mind women in commercials either, BUT then it became a socialist feminist overload in the commercials where men were made to look like morons, weak and helpless, while skinny 110 lb females had to fend off 250 lb attackers or had to build the house themselves because their husbands were too stupid to do so- etc etc etc-
back in the 70’s and 80’s there were black folks in commercials as well and noone objected- We never even gave it a thought- but now-a-days it’s how they are depicted, and how white folks are depicted that people are objecting to- The woke advertisers have gone way overboard trying to indoctrinate the ‘unwashed masses’ with their socialist anti-white agenda-
> It [dentistry] wouldn’t be wrong but it’s not anything my teenagers and their friends discuss studying. <
You make an interesting point. A few years ago I visited a university engineering department. On one wall was a group photo of all the petroleum engineering students. There were around 40 of them.
Two guys looked like Westerners. All the rest looked Indian or Chinese. Does that mean anything? I guess it depends on what the Indian and Chinese students are planning to do after graduation.
So true!
I remember back when Archie Bunker was confronted with his first “lady doctor”, as they were called at the time. Men regularly expressed doubt that they were as capable as male doctors, more out of their ideas of women’s limitations than due to affirmative-action promoting the less capable.
Much of that has passed, of course, but in those areas where it hasn’t (e.g., airliner piloting) IMO it would have, had AA not entered into it. There would be fewer women with such positions, but those who had them would be perceived as having got there on merit. The same general dynamic would apply racially on a much greater level, had equal bars for qualification been applied throughout.
Agreed, it has been countered to an overboard level for decades now, but before that were decades of the ditzy wife, only very subservient minorities, etc.
Isn’t right now and wasn’t right then—though of course the country was much more of a white majority at the time and there were far fewer women in professional positions.
Is white toothpaste racist?
They’re very common in my area. But I think the ads are just marketing. They will always utilize current fads and fashions, advertise to every subgroup, etc. A mixed couple covers two bases in one ad.
I kicked out my TV in ‘88. Haven’t looked since.
Whites appear to be minorities now in commercials, except for every couple that is a black person with a white partner.
I think my brother’s problem was just the sex issue, nothing to do with competence. He was used to male doctors, and didn’t want to be seen by a female.
I must be a dinosaur, because I’ve generally preferred male doctors. I guess a lot of it is what you grew up with and are used to.
You see white people in commercials?
The rare white male is always effeminate or stupid.
Stupid men with women who are always right was a theme on TV back in the fifties.
True; and most marketing, especially anything to do with the household, was geared toward women and probably still is.
that is 100% true. Programming. First noticed this sort of thing in the late 60’s and 70’s with advertising to kids.
There are very few whites in any commercial.
I suppose it’s because they don’t want our business.
