The first sentence alone told me how much woke BS was going to be in the article.
Being 5’18” has advantages and disadvantages.
I can see over the aisles at Publix. Can reach most things.
But hitting your head on a ceiling fan really sucks.
The Dutch have traditionally been up there as well.
My one Finnish pal is petite, but there are exceptions to every rule.
And the NBA has lost some talent to Marfan’s as well.

But hard to believe a year of hunger 80 years ago is affecting height to any degree today.
There were studies that clearly showed it stunted the growth of the children who were malnourished. One of those children was Audrey Hepburn.
Who passed away in 1993.
But interesting, I didn’t know that either.
Lots of women in Latvia are over six feet tall.

It increased from the late 1800s through the 1980s. Then it leveled off and started started trending slightly downward. I would have to think that immigration is a factor.

Wow, they actually got something correct. However, the average male in the US is 5.8, but women look for 6.2. They also want a guy making 150K plus annually, a guy not overweight, and between 20-40% of all women in sample groups would date a married man. The percentage of men making 150K annually is about 20%, however 75% of men carry approximately or on average 35 extra pounds, and only one in 16 is 6.2 or taller.... WOMEN are all dating the same Man. There are fewer than one percent of all men who meet the “ideal” of the average single 18-45 year old woman’s requirements for a spouse.
Men on the other hand don’t necessarily worry about a womans income or height and will settle for an average looking woman with a few extra pounds - if she is kind to him.
I was 5.9 before 101 parachute jumps, 73 in combat equipment, 41 at night. Now I am 5.7 after the spinal fusions;) being just over 65....
If you ain’t tall enough... the women you definitely don’t want don’t want you - so men have the upper hand in finding a mate, and the crazy women who did this research about height were just trying to figure how many men are available for their first physical requirement.
