“Trump needs to keep blasting the Left like he always does as his VP and heir apparent also must do.”

I was thinking about Trump’s VP pick this time around, as you were discussing yesterday. I’m not near as knowledgeable as you two. But I was thinking he had Pence forced upon him last time, supposedly to get the establishment vote. Which of course should have been our clue that Pence was untrustworthy. Well some of us got the clue. We just couldn’t voice it here.

So he should have a lot more freedom this time around. His record stands for itself. He has nothing more to prove to us, think of how doubtful we were in 2016. Well some were, and some were cautiously optimistic.

As you said, he can be looking for his heir apparent. Not somebody to get votes from a certain segment.

I think Pence was also the pick to shore up the Christian right vote.

What a flippin’ joke THAT turned out to be! Some of us knew it from the get-go. The guy made snake-oil salesmen look like church elders.

“But I was thinking he had Pence forced upon him last time,....”

It seems you have forgotten it was Melania who in the end convinced Trump to pick Pence.

Pence had no scandles to his name and also being a known Christian would help.
