Day By Day is one of my favorite songs of all time. It was a song I felt very personally attached to as I felt it described my future wife and I. We have now been married 35 years.
I remember finding out about you
Every day, my mind is all around you
Looking out from my lonely room
Day after day
Bring it home, baby, make it soon
I give my love to you
I remember holding you while you sleep
Every day, I feel the tears that you weep
Looking out of my lonely gloom
Day after day
Bring it home, baby, make it soon
I give my love to you
Looking out of my lonely room
Day after day
Bring it home, baby, make it soon
I give my love to you
I remember finding out about you
Every day, my mind is all around you
Looking out of my lonely gloom
Day after day
Bring it home, baby, make it soon
I give my love to you
Ditto that. I was a one striper in language school at the Presidio of Monterey and they were very lonely times. The locals had no use for the military and most kept their daughters locked up.
I met one young lady who helped, immensely, to brighten up my stay there. We parted ways when I transferred and we never heard from each other again. But, she was a bright spot in otherwise tough times, that I will always remember.
