These things have been occurring ever more frequently. It is a sign of the Great Apostasy that is underway and the collapse of American society and maybe of Western Civilization. The City of Bell, CA was always very corrupt. Everyone in city hall stole tax money, and they all had bloated super salaries. Tiny town, but the corruption was so bad it made national news some years ago.

There are two things to consider here (at least): 1) The perpetrators. Both of them are equally guilty. They need to be prosecuted to the fullest extant of the law. Whether that means life in prison or the death penalty, that depends on what the law is where the crime was committed. 2) Society in general. This is a crime that must be punished, and swiftly. Justice must e carried out quickly, publicly, and resolutely. If not, more will die. This is a matter of preserving in our society the idea of the sanctity of life. Otherwise, life is cheapened in our society.
