I have never been to San Francisco, and won’t unless business takes me there.
Looking at it on the map, who wants to direct thousands of cars to a sports arena on a peninsula? One well-placed accident, and the pile-up could last for DAYS.
San Fran was a great designation. I was in training there 6 weeks in 1976. My first trip was 74 and it was great. It remains in a beautiful location but spoiled by animals and the politicians without balls.My daughter moved there and worked for Nordstroms till she moved south. Been there dozens of times.
However I remember in the 80s an aggressive bum getting in my face. I started toward him and my girlfriend pulled me back. I would have unholstered but wasn’t carrying thst day. (retired peace officers can carry concealed in Cal if they re-qualify every 90 days).
There was a time when SF gave out free meals at shelters and tourists could get the coupon and give them out instead of cash. The bums rejected the coupons.
That aggressiveness has been getting worse for 35 years and the city does nothing.
Tourist tip. Don’t go. If you do, stay out of the Feces District.
