First, on the fluid around lungs....I think the guy was just walking around and waiting for some heart attack to occur. If you’d assessed his health impact...scale of one to ten, he probably was going to be dead within three to five years.

Second, he stops at the ‘mom-and-pop’ shop to buy only a pack of smokes (which is probably a higher cost than a regular grocery store). He presents a counterfeit $20 and the clerk checks it....finding it is counterfeit, and then asks him to remain while he calls the cops.

George walks out, with the smokes.

In these minutes, this being early morning....the cops have nothing much going on, and they arrive around six to seven minutes later.

All George had to do...was enter the SUV and drive away. Instead, he climbs into the vehicle, and waits. Why? A normal person would have left and put a mile or two between themselves and the cops.

This part of the story has never made sense to me. Where the counterfeit $20 came from? Never discussed. Wonder why?

I could be wrong, but I had the impression that the 20 was made on a home printer, using ordinary paper stock. One of those ridiculous "counterfeits" that are almost impossible to pass. He probably paid someone a dollar for it. You might pass it to a clerk at a 7-11 at 3:00 AM, if you're lucky.
