A lot of illegals don’t speak pure Spanish many speak a mixture of tribal languages with some Spanish.

There are a huge number of primitive people from the Yucatan and other muddy locales were the common tongue is some indigenous language. I remember reading about how California has a hard time finding translators for these creatures from the land time forgot.
