Even in cases where clear lawful force is mustered against an obvious criminal threat, liberals loathe good samaritans like the New York subway man.

Jordan Neely had dozens of prior arrests. There are unproven but believable claims he tried to push at least one person onto the subway tracks. This was a dangerous man who New York authorities allowed to roam around at will until he inevitably hurt or killed someone. A good Samaritan stepped in to protect the public, so prosecutors and the press and Antifa are going to ruin his life — and maybe ruin a few small businesses along the way, just for fun.

The left says that they don’t want more robberies, rapes, and mayhem. They say they’re simply concerned about vigilantes taking the law into their own hands. They’re lying.

The truth is, the left doesn’t want you defending yourself — let alone defending others — from chaos and violence. They don’t want good samaritans doing it, and they especially don’t want police performing the public service your tax dollars ought to buy.

A healthy society produces dozens of people like Kyle Rittenhouse or the Subway Guy — men who care about their neighbors, and want to keep them safe. But a healthy society doesn’t NEED men like this most days. That’s because healthy societies care whether the subways are full of violent psychos, and dispatches cops there to redress them. A healthy society puts the criminally insane in hospitals or in prisons. It doesn’t set them loose underground.

Liberals used to pretend they wanted America to be like Scandinavia — with more public services and nicer public goods. That’s their excuse for stealing half your livelihood in taxes.

The truth is, they don’t want any public goods to exist. No safe parks. No competent schools. No clean, efficient trains. When they pretend otherwise, it’s one of those lies so obvious, it reveals only contempt.

They take your money because they can, and because it’s dangerous for them if you to accumulate too much of anything. Too much cash. Too much agency. Too much free speech. They want you powerless. The subway predator does, too. In that sense, pro-crime elites and their criminal pets are exactly the same.
