And you still had the right to keep and carry it.
The militia was free males between the ages of 14 and 45. But the wording shifts in the second part to "the right of the people". That is all free people. No matter age or sex. And no matter if they actually owned the weapon in question or not.
We just went through this issue with the Rittenhouse case where the concept of it being ok to lend someone a gun was talked about.
Do try to keep up.
What these clowns always fail to acknowledge is that the Bill of Rights is NOT a restriction on the People, but rather a restriction on the government.
Well, thank God this sockcucker overrules the Supreme Court of the United States!
Try to keep up, Keith.
Of course, Keith is our cross to bear.
He’s still alive?
Keith Olbermann is Exhibit A for proving a college education does not necessarily make someone smart.
Keith Olbermann notes end of story he’s a writer of history not a reader of it.
In a sense he’s right. It isn’t the amendment itself that protects any right...it’s the willingness to act on that right against those who try to take it away that protects the right. When the various groups threaten violence and your government wants to disarm YOU...it’s time to wonder exactly why.
I note Keith Olberdouche is out of his damn mind.
Well, let’s see - - -
How about slaves
Do you ‘own’ or ‘keep’ a slave?
Now apply that to ‘keep’ a gun.
Is he still alive?
If Keith wants to take my guns, he should personally come after them.
Dang Joe,I hate to ping anything about Olbermoronson but OK.
This Ping List is for all news pertaining to infringes upon or victories for the 2nd Amendment.
FReepmail me if you want to be added to or deleted from this Ping List.

Good thing most conservative (read: law abiding) firearms owners are responsible, otherwise some might conclude that olbersturmbahnfurhermann doesn’t own, or keep, firearms and is therefore a soft target.
Imho Keith Olbermann has mental health issues.

“To note” means “to point out” and indicates a correction or affirmation. There’s nothing in the Constitution “to note” about it not allowing private ownership of firearms.
Indeed, I’d rather “note” that the 9th and 10th amendments affirm it as neither prohibited nor enumerated, thereby gun ownership is a right “retained by” and “reserved to” the people.
We’ve had this discussion. Time to be done with that argument.
