Asmall town in Bolivia was sent into a frenzy when locals found a dead alien on their streets after allegedly witnessing a green strobe from what they claimed looked like an alien spacecraft.The tiny town of Huarina, La Paz, which had a total population of 1,300 according to the last census in 2001, had its inhabitants excitedly pointing their cameras up to the sky to witness the never-before-seen paranormal events.
The main paranormal event, as reported by resident Rita Marquez to local news outlets, was a peculiar sight of small figures, “like those little people who appear to children,” scuttling around in the streets late one night.

I have heard the “Ugly American” phrase my entire life, and I thought I knew what it meant.

Unfortunately while I believe aliens wanted to Serve Man, we were chewy and tough. Then one of their food AI networks after years of experimentation found out how much better we taste with a simple injection which caused Spike tenderizer proteins to fix this.

George Noory was a terrible disappointment when he took over the show. George Knapp is much better and the closest we’re likely to get to Art Bell these days. But there’s no substitute for Art, he was one of a kind. He could make any topic sound mysterious and fascinating, even when you knew he might not personally believe a particular story. One of the all-time greats of radio.

Actually, I LOVE that you brought this up! I said the phrase to these kids because I (wrongly) assumed it was a common cultural idiom of Americans in other countries - AND because I was actually goofy and different looking. Now, the first assumption on my part was really dumb, because I already knew - going in - that they were a very sheltered culture/town.
Anyway, I'd love to hear your knowledge of story about that phrase! My only guess is that it's WW1 or WW2 related?
Indeed he was. I liked Spacetrucker's description upthread: "the late-nighter’s paranormal Rush Limbaugh." They both could hold you spellbound with their voices, their intelligence, and their sense of humor. I recall that Rush sent Art a "wooden-Indian style" alien statue as a gift one time.
Miss them both.
