There was a biker convocation in Niihama, Japan recently, the town next door to our sister city (I can't find the video on the NHK site but here is the Facebook link to it). At one point there is a group shot of all the bikers, with the head of the club saying, "The sight of all these smiling faces is something I treasure." What smiling faces? Nearly all of them are wearing masks.

I like the Japanese, but their mask fetish which even the government is now trying to correct is something I can’t fathom.
