Aretha Franklin described her mission as a singer like this: “Me with my hand outstretched, hoping someone will take it.” That kind of deep, empathetic bond between artist and listener is the most elemental connection in music. And you can think of our list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time as a celebration of that bond. These are the vocalists that have shaped history and defined our lives — from smooth operators to raw shouters, from gospel to punk, from Sinatra to Selena to SZA

Well the Markley, Van Camp, and Robbins show asked yesterday, who were the 5 best rock vocalists.
Robert Plant was #1, which I agree with.
Roger Daltrey should be #2.
Anyway I like their show, also there is an uproar that Rolling Stone left out Celine Dion.

I agree with Plant and Daltry. I also liked Ian Anderson from Tull. Ann and Nancy Wilson were also great as was Greg Lake.

If ronstadt isn’t top 10 it’s a weak list.

It’s too bad it’s Rolling Stoners. I’m not giving them a click. I would assume Bobby Hatfield (Rightous Bros) is on the list. And Luciano Pavoratti of course.

Can't believe they actually said Axl Rose had a good voice.

They overlooked the phenomenal Joe Williams (died 1992), singer for the Count Basie band in the ‘30s and ‘40s.
Saw him perform in 1991 at the Spoleto festival in Charleston, SC. He’s One Guy’s favorite jazz musician of any type.

This is clearly designed to generate traffic, interest, and revenue for a rag that stopped being relevant around the time they started outright lying. And hating anyone who doesn't want a leftist boot on the throats of The Little People.
Mojo out of the U.K. is superior.

I would definitely put Burton Cummings of the Guess Who and Mike Smith of the Dave Clark Five in the discussion.

I don’t think many of these people are “great singers”. I think they did songs that people liked, but the quality of the singing voice of many could not be considered “greatest singer”.

Wokeism and slavish obedience to political correctness, not quality, are behind most of the selections.
