My opinion, at least.
Happy New Year, everyone.
Need a good cell phone/ankle bracelet for the WEF 15-minute prison cities.
Still using a 5S as a wIphone [no SIM card] to do internet radio+.
Apple is going to suffer eventually. Their product innovation died with Steve Jobs. iPhone 25 and iPad gen12 will only go so far. Someone will innovate them into a death spiral. Just my opinion.
People who can afford to buy pro iPhones every year in Biden’s hyperinflated economy will continue to do so while everyone else will hold onto their perfectly good old phones longer.
Mine was the best price..My friend’s son gave her a new iPhone and she gave me her iPhone SE for free....Best price there is......
My company issued iPhones for work last year since we still have flexible work from home schedules. First time I ever used an iPhone and I was shocked at how inconvenient and unnecessarily complicated it is. Even what should be the simple act of turning the phone off is an awkward two-handed process. Maybe they once were innovative, but Androids have passed them by significantly.
iPhone 6 here, still works fine.
I guess you can only reinvent the wheel so many times.
I don’t own, nor have I ever owned, an iPhone, but as I understand it from talking to family members who are into this product, the problem with the basic iphone 14 and 14+ is that Apple cheaped out and only made minimal improvements over the 13 models. The 14 pro made an improvement in the “notch” at the top center of the screen that signaled the direction Apple is going with the product, but in doing so they contributed to making the basic 14/14+ seem like an outdated rehash of the 13.
I have an Iphone XS which is the 2018 model. I was considering upgrading this year because I dropped it and cracked the screen as well as the back. When the 14 came out I just didn’t see anything it does better than my old one. I don’t care about better cameras or anything like that, I care about reception and battery life. My old phone was still working fine so I opted to spend the $200 to replace the screen instead, now it’s pretty much like new. The back is still cracked but it’s covered by the case so you can’t tell. I usually only get a couple of years out of a phone before something breaks so if I can get another year out of this one (5 years total) that’ll be a record for me. My XS is the same size as the 14 and I don’t want one any bigger, it’s on the verge of being too big already.
I must be one of the few people left on earth that uses my phone to call people, text people, check an occasional email, Google Map somewhere, and look something up on the web while I’m waiting for my wife to get the hell out of Sephora.
All this processing power is nuts on a phone, and it just jacks everything up. If I want processing, I’ll pull out my iPad Pro or Macbook Pro...
I have an iPhone 7 and an SE first gen and my sister and her husband stopped at iPhone 11 ,LOL
My wife and I have Samsung S20 phones. Normally we keep our phone for 3 years and then trade them in for new phones. However the trade-in value has gotten so low that we plan to keep them for 5 years before getting new phones. After almost 3 years the batteries are still holding up fine.
