So I’m assuming that we were caught out in the penumbra of the blast? Was it a blast from an interstellar object that was extremely far away? I’m just saying this because I thought that Gamma-Ray Bursts were easily capable of being extinction events under a direct hit.

I only took Astronomy 101, so I can’t answer you intelligently.

I thought they were only short in duration, yet extremely powerful.

I’m going to do some looking around.
