The passenger was reported missing by his sister around midday Thursday before the Coast Guard and neighboring vessels spotted him in the water hours later

These ships supposedly have cameras everywhere.....if that’s accurate they should be able to review footage and pinpoint exactly when and where he did the header.
“Why anyone would pay to get underway with 3 or 4 thousand of them defies me”
Have you ever taken a cruise?
If not I understand why you would say that.
Cruising is one of the better bangs for the buck you can get in a vacation........as long as you can keep from falling off the darn thing. 😏
Yep
You are tiny speck in a huge ocean.
Where were ya......Whitey’s Fish Camp? 😏
Been outside on a cruise ship under way at night in the middle of the gulf many times.......no land or lights in sight......it is ABSOLUTELY pitch black.
Those shots encompass Wilmington DE, Newark DE, Jax FL, San Angelo TX, and Cocoa Beach FL.
They say some alcohol is healthy. I’m good until I hit 268 years old…
:)
I agree with Hat-Trick! I never go on any vacation where I can’t leave when ever I want to. To me the only thing worse than a cruise would be going to a family reunion and having and then having the the place locked down for 10 day Quarantine!
So would I be correct in assuming you’ve never been on a cruise?
A variation of “The Silver Streak” on water rather than
rail.
The passenger was lucky and thank you to our Coast Guard for a job well done.
No I haven’t, but don’t make to much out of that as I have never been in prison either, but I am fairly sure I wouldn’t like it.
True confession - I have never taken a cruise. Been on plenty of them for inspections & casino time when they’re in port. Became used to being underway with professional mariners, and don’t think I’ve got the patience for anything else. I’ve got plenty of small craft underway time, mainly sailboats in the Chesapeake, Caribbean, Keys, even took a 44’ Beneteau offshore from Charleston to Key Largo. I get the financial aspect of it - you can see some cool places for the $$’s. I just have so little trust in mankind, I don’t want to be around that many of them when things don’t go as they’ve planned.
There are better bangs for your buck than cruising IMO (unless you live in Florida), and usually don’t involve 135 sq ft puny rooms to holed up in or with 3-4k people including a ton of little kids. I travel to the Caribbean a LOT (just got back from Grenada on a free trip to Sandals in fact), Europe and all over the US (both for work and pleasure on the last two) and the math on the cruise ships just don’t work that well unless you are willing to stay in the super small entry level rooms, don’t drink very much on vacation, and simply unwilling to do research to find alternatives. Cruise ships are for inexperienced travelers IMO.
You obviously don't believe in UFOs. Did the whole "Beam me up, Scotty." thing pass you by? Of course, I'm not saying it was aliens, but... LOL
My wife and I cruise several times a year....how the hell do you fall off a ship????
Cruising is not for everyone to be sure.
What I suggest to people who have never been but have any curiosity about it at all is to book a 3 dayer.....that way if they hate it they’re back off the boat pretty quick.
Having said that, I used to work with a whole lot of retired Navy guys. Many of ‘em said they’d never get on a cruise ship because of their experiences on ships in the Navy......until my retired Navy Chief supervisors’ daughter decided to get married during a 7 day cruise.
He had to go and he was dreading it. I just laughed because I was pretty sure I knew what was gonna happen....sure enough when he got back to work he told me he and his wife were already planning their next cruise trip.
As far as prison goes.....I have been in many state prison facilities over the last 5 or so years serving in my church’s prison ministry.
When people ask me what that’s like I always say the same thing......”it’s not what you think it is”......and that goes for cruising as well.
Have a blessed day gentlemen.
Same to you, and prison ministry is awesome. Got to do it a few times at our local county jail, anywhere from 15-30 guys in a mod.
“year....how the hell do you fall off a ship?”
I know right.
The scary thing is its not THAT uncommon......even the end of this article references a previous accident on this same ship that the person was not recovered.
Be interesting to know of the fell of in approximately the same location or not.
Two weeks later it could’ve been a Festivus miracle
Jack Daniels must be his personal trainer. 😏
