Seldom do we see POTUS & VPOTUS together in an unprotected area. Supposedly, the last time was LBJ and JFK sitting a few seats apart at a ball game.

In the abscene of a dual assasination\accident\medical catastrophe at the exact same time, in order for Speaker to ascend to the presidency, they would have to be impeached and convicted and removed from office at the exact same time.

I’m not a lawyer, so don’t take my word for it, but I *THINK* that if one is removed from office, there would be some amount of time where the VP slot is left unfilled. It doesn’t get filled instantly. If whoever is President at that time is removed before the VP slot gets filled, then it would go to the SotH.

I *think*.

Not exactly. There is no Vice-President in office after the Vice-President assumes the Presidency. To appoint a new Vice, the new President makes the nomination which must be approved by both houses of congress. Until that happens, the Speaker is next in line for the Presidency.
