I’ve been lied to so much I no longer believe anything without proof. I regard everything as a lie until proven otherwise.

Sometimes, to combat thought suppression, I find it useful to take any new information as "Hypothetically true" ... and then see how that might rearrange other thoughts which I have already vetted.
If it makes sense of a lot of things which were previously obscure, then I take it to a higher level of verification and seek additional information.
Thus we can take what we know and either connect the dots (deduction) or make rational extension of patterns (induction) to find new truth.
Sometimes we don't know exactly where new information comes from. I always consider that it may be a fantasy; HOWEVER, it may be from the Holy Spirit.
