Center for Disease Control reported Thursday that Tulsa County is at a high-risk level for COVID-19 transmission. Tulsa currently has 236.05 cases per 100,000 people, according to the CDC.
Until the next booster vaccine is developed, Dr. Holden recommends wearing an N95 or KN95 mask when traveling and in areas with heavy foot traffic. BA.5 lingers in the air longer, he said, so places where many people constantly come and go are potential hotspots.
Not only did Dr. Holden reiterate that masks work, but he stressed that COVID vaccines are both safe and effective. It may seem like they were rushed to production, but the mRNA technology they utilize has been exhaustively researched and developed over several decades. The pushback they've received, though, has him re-thinking his approach to science education.
“We were trying to go from the top down," he said, "where those who were, let’s say, anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers, were going from the bottom up. They’re going to the schools and the churches and talking to people face-to-face and saying, ‘don’t do these things.’ And the truth is, we found and learned that we should be doing it a different way. We need to get to the grassroots and explain to people how these things do mitigate the disease and mitigate the transmission.”
Those who are unvaccinated and do not wear a mask, Dr. Holden said, should stay home and avoid crowded places.

"And I go, ‘you have the right to do this, but you don’t have the right to infect other people.’ And so, as a society, we have to decide to help each other, to defend each other.”

Yesterday I checked a graph of new cases in my county. They were displayed by vax status. Interestingly, the order was (from high to low): unvaxxed, vaxxed and boosted, and just vaxxed with no booster.
So it seems it was better to get vaxxed but not boosted.
It’s not Oklahoma. It’s Tulsa and Oklahoma Counties.
They are not true representatives of the rest of the state.

I fully understand that. We have the same problem here in Pennsylvania with Allegheny (Pittsburgh) and Philadelphia Counties.
There is no need for masks. The hospitals have had two years to prepare for any “surge.”

Almost everyone who got covid or the variants got them while wearing masks because of all,the mask mandates at the time. (Of course the vile left will argue “but think how many more would have gotten it if we hadnt mandated masks”)
People in the US catching a virus in July. Strange virus. I wonder how the investigation is going into its’ origin? That’s right...... there isn’t one. There seems to be no demand for one either.
Now....I just read cases, how many deaths?
What people forget, is we didn’t used to go run and get a “test” every time we had a runny nose or cough...... like they do now. We didn’t hear or worry about “cases.”
