Basking in our diversity.
On my oldest son's first day in a public high school he was confronted in the lunch line by an inner city boy who threw a punch that came fairly close to my son's face.
My son, who had taken karate since age four, got his food, went and sat down at the table right across from the one who had just thrown the punch, and calmly said ... "That's not the proper way to throw a punch. Do you want me to show you?"
It turns out that he had sat down at the table with half the high school football team. They all became friends and there was never again any hint of trouble.
