Henry VIII was a VERY athletic, fit, and yes, trim man until his accident, which injured one of his legs and kept him from playing tennis, jousting, dancing ( one of his passions and which he was extremely good at and the dances, back then, were really quite some workout )and much of any kind of intense physical activities. He was only quite stout ( FAT! ) in his later years.

When I was a kid the mini-series "The Six Wives of Henry VIII" and "Elizabeth R" came out. Got fascinated with that history.

Henry was quite a stud when he was young!
