Type 2 diabetes remission is possible for people with lower BMIs (10% - 15% weight loss using a cycled lower carb, ‘crash’ diet - 70% went into remission (fatty liver/pancreas fixed))
Medical Xpress / Newcastle University / 2022 Diabetes UK Professional Conference ^ | Apr. 1, 2022 | Professor Roy Taylor et al

A new shows remission from type 2 diabetes is possible for people with lower BMIs.

Results show a staggering 70% of participants with lower bodyweights went into type 2 remission through diet-induced weight loss, despite not living with obesity or overweight.

The Counterpoint study first showed that shedding fat from inside the pancreas and liver was key to remission from type 2 in people living with obesity or overweight.

To find out if losing excess fat could also help people with BMIs in the healthy range go into remission from type 2 diabetes, Professor Roy Taylor put people with the condition and a BMI at or just above the healthy range (BMI below 27) on a similar low-calorie diet program.

Participants were supported by a medical team to stop all glucose lowering tablets and follow a strict low-calorie diet (800 kcal per day), consisting of formula meal replacements and non-starchy vegetables for 2–4 weeks, followed by a 4–6 week weight loss maintenance period which involved the gradual reintroduction of normal foods. This cycle of weight loss and maintenance was repeated up to three times, until participants lost between 10 and 15% of their bodyweight.

After each cycle, the research team measured the amount of fat in the participants' pancreas and liver and looked to see who how remission was produced.

Following on from last year's promising preliminary results, the study's complete data confirms for the first time that people with type 2 diabetes and lower BMIs can be supported to put their type 2 into remission through a structured low-calorie diet program, and that the key to this is losing harmful fat from the liver and pancreas.

Participants reported feeling satisfied with their weight loss and health improvements and didn't report difficulties with keeping the weight off that they'd lost.

If you think you are “normal” weight, apparently, your body believes you need to lose 10 - 15% of its weight to put your Type 2 diabetes into remission.

Strangely, eliminating diabetes is tied to getting rid of your fatty liver and pancreas.

The “Take Charge Of Your Health” Ping List

This potentially high volume ping list is for health articles and studies which describe something you or your doctor, when informed, may be able to implement for your benefit.

Now keeping a new list (“Common/Top Issues”) for conditions expected to only concern at least 1% of the population. Ask to be on either the “Common/Top Issues” or “Everything” list.

Please email or private message me if you want on or off of a list and of which list you desire.

Keeping a diet high in plant protein and no processed foods is key to eliminating diabetes.

Its not strange if you think about it.

Lots of refined sugar/white flour carbs, are about as bad as drinking alcohol to your liver. This can cause liver damage and cirrhosis of the liver.

Lots of refined sugar dumped into your body quickly is a serious event your bosy has to deal with fast to keep your blood sugar levels within a decent range or you go into a diabetic coma. So its very stressful on the pancreas.

This is knowledge well known for years, yet even in the wake of this ‘new study’ we will still have an epidemic of obesity & impaired health.

I’m convinced that I have the answers to many questions of lingering debate - to include this persistent health ‘crisis’ affecting a growing percentage of the populace - but can’t share until I publish.

Lots of refined sugar/white flour carbs, are about as bad as drinking alcohol to your liver. This can cause liver damage and cirrhosis of the liver.

Starch, as in white flour, is not too bad, since it depolymerizes into glucose which is readily used by the body or converted to fat.

Sucrose (cane sugar) is bad, because it is a disaccharide that consists of one molecule of glucose and one molecule of fructose, i.e. it is 50% fructose. The fructose has to be metabolized in the liver, sort of like ethanol.

Yeah, it isn’t about low carbs, it is about low calorie and exercise/activity.

There are some Doctors that have known this for years. Main Stream Doctors ignored them because it puts too much power into the hands of individual patients, after all....”It’s about the village”

“Yeah, it isn’t about low carbs, it is about low calorie and exercise/activity.”

Cool. Please tell me what exactly you mean by “low” calorie?

Glucose is exactly what becomes “blood sugar.”

That is exactly what diabetics are having a direct problem with, each day, and the only thing insulin tries to work against.

Type 2 can be sent into remission by (1) eating sensibly, and (2) resolving the body’s deficiency of two enzymes: vanadium and chromium.

BigPharm has zero interest in telling you that, or pursuing naturopathic treatments.

The book “The Case Against Sugar” points out the rise of obesity and diabetes followed the introduction of low cost sugar from the Middle East and especially after the development of the huge cane sugar plantations in the West Indies manned by African Slaves.

A relative is 5ft 6 inches. She ballooned up to 180lbs. She never had diagnosed diabetes, but one day she had severe diabetes symptoms, such as painful legs and unquenchable thirst. She immediately went on a strict low carb diet. Got down to 115lbs within 7 months. No more diabetes symptoms.

Her main book/bible is this >> Dr. Bernstein’s Diabetes Solution: The Complete Guide to Achieving Normal Blood Sugars Hardcover – Illustrated, November 1, 2011

Total Calorie Count per Day is Less than your burn rate based on your height and current weight, as you loose weight you constantly ratchet it down.

Keep going till you are about 20-25% body fat.

Make sure that you never deprive yourself more than 5% of your burn rate but you can have a fasting day two times per week where you eat nothing as long as they are spaced out, never two days in a row.
