December 31, 2018 Why Does No One Care That Neo-Nazis Are Gaining Power In Ukraine?
The Forward ^ | December 31, 2018

Posted on 03/08/2022 9:17:54 AM PST by JonPreston

Ukraine really does have a far-right problem, and it’s not a fiction of Kremlin propaganda. And it’s well past time to talk about it.

Ukraine’s far-right is like a hydra, with ugly heads that pop up far too frequently. Just within the last few weeks, an American-born cabinet minister thanked a group of violent neo-Nazi “activists” for their services, a soldier was photographed wearing a Nazi death’s head patch right behind President Petro Poroshenko and almost 1,500 neo-Nazis and friends threw a two-day Hitler-salute-fest.

Ukraine’s notorious Azov movement keeps growing. Since it was created in 2014 to fight Russian-led forces in the east, it made news by accepting openly neo-Nazi members into its rank. Now the Azov Battalion has become an official Ukrainian National Guard regiment. In 2016 the group formed a political party, which, they claim, now has tens of thousands of members. Earlier this year they unveiled a paramilitary force that doubles as a street gang.

Even as their party polls barely a percent, Azov is trying – as one of their higher-ups has told me personally – to build a far-right “state within the state,” running everything from nationalist study groups and mixed martial arts training to free gyms for youth and programs for the elderly. They’re also trying to turn Kiev into a capital of the global far-right, inviting neo-Nazis and white supremacists from around the world to visit.

Well if these neo-nazis have been fighting in the east they don’t seem to be very good at it.

Congress is working on a $1.5 Trillion omnibus with Funding for Covid and Ukraine

the Ukraine omnibus bill will be at least half that amount, and will serve to fill the pockets of our Oligarchs, starting with the newly re-opened Clinton Foundation.

Nazi - German for National Socialist. Hardly right wing... Are people this dumb in the world?

Well..Yes, some are. But this type of characterization is designed to purposely meld the terms to insult the right and confuse the masses.

The Azov brigades are an armed criminal/extortion racket with political power

They are useful to Zelensky and NATO in their fragile, puppet state.

Think Mexican Cartels.

Nazis and Commies. Two wings of the same bird.

“Controversial problems [between Germany and Russia] did not, in my opinion, exist anywhere along the line from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea and to the Far East.

In addition, despite all the divergencies in their views of life, there was one thing common to the ideology of Germany, Italy and the Soviet Union: opposition to the capitalist democracies in the West.”—Julius Schnurre, Nazi trade rep to Russia.

From the article:"...Azov is trying – as one of their higher-ups has told me personally – to build a far-right “state within the state,” ...They’re also trying to turn Kiev into a capital of the global far-right...

Michael Colborne at 'The Forward' is nothing but a propagandist. The National Socialists (Nazis) are far Left and are being aided by Democratic Socialists (Bernie Sanders actual term) in the United States.

The Forward appears to have a rather leftist orientation and history...

I think we need to continuously slap back the false notion that fascism and Nazis are from the right.

The article is from more than three years ago. Without close and up to date knowledge of Ukraine, it is mere guesswork as to whether the appearance of Nazi symbols in the context of a militia fighting Russians is a sign of ideological kinship with Nazism or more like a biker gang or an American sports team adopting the name and symbols of savage predators from history like Vikings, Pirates, and Raiders. And for many Ukrainians, the Nazis enjoy a grudging respect as deeply feared and hated by the Russians.

Unfortunately, the Forward is not a reliable source because, like the Southern Poverty Law Center and similar organizations, it has a steady and profitable line in peddling alarmism and smearing political figures and organizations as Neo Nazi or racist.

He was like 12 or 13 years old at the time.
Active morally conscious of his actions Nazi collaborator is a hard case to make for someone that age.

Nothing I typed above should be interpreted as having any sympathy for Soros. I just prefer my dislike to based on facts.
