Call me a cynic but I think the divorce was strategic to protect the fortune from the possibility that Epstein’s victims are going to sue Gates back to the stone age.
I don’t believe she met him only once “to see who he was” and had nightmares. Epstein was a fixture in the MIT crowd which I have to think was well within their social circles.
You're forgetting: It's the appeal of the forbidden!
The very fact that it is illegal makes it more appealing to them.
