IMO Vanguard is just like all the other Wall Street oligarchs, they look at the world as their monopoly board looking for investments that have the best returns for their investors depending on the mutual fund, with no loyalty to any country. And some of their mutual funds dictate their policy due to size and investment amount, i.e. institutional investors. The larger the investment the more Vanguard listens to the particular investor.
My parents are invested in some Vanguard mutual funds and they have been able to retire comfortably with them, but don’t kid yourself. Vanguard is the largest shareholder in BlackRock and they don’t do or say anything about BlackRock’s pro-China anti-America investment slant and as long as their BlackRock “investment” has good returns they won’t. I also wouldn’t be surprised if BlackRock had large investment positions in Vanguard mutual funds, i.e. institutional investors.
IMO Wall Street is an incestuous small club and we aren’t in it.

I don’t think you are understanding the concept. Vanguard is not owned by one person or even several people. It is owned by the millions of people who have invested in it (shareholders). Everyone who has an account with them has the opportunity to vote on the Board of Directors. The Board is made up of independent directors, who have no affiliation with Vanguard, other than funds they may invest in as individuals. Your parents have the opportunity to vote on the Board of Directors, just like everyone else who is a shareholder.
I concur re Vanguard.
Are any mutual fund firms / brokerage houses Godly?
