The Bengals seemingly miraculously came back from 18 points to beat the heavy favorite Chiefs. Bengals over the Chiefs was actually foreseeable. The Bengals were the NFL’s #1 passing team in the regular season whereas the Chiefs were 26th against the pass (and 30 against the run).
What about today? Well, the Rams’ defense was 9th against the pass and 4th against the run. Different scenario. I don’t think the Bengals will be able to move the ball against the Rams the way they did against the Chiefs.
The networks say the Rams have the #1 pass defense in the NFL. Statistically that is simply not true. The Rams surprisingly were 15th against scoring. Against the pass they were 9th and 4th against the run.
Strong but not the best. but good enough I think to beat the Bengals. In fact, the pass/run YDG hints at a possible Rams’ blowout. Hope not. Hope it’s a good game to watch.
