A young soldier who died suddenly has been described as a 19-year-old who "would light up the room" by her heartbroken family.

Gunner Jaysley-Louise Beck was found dead at a military base in Wiltshire last month.

The 19-year-old had done her initial training at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate and then continued her career at Larkhill in 2020.

The Army has confirmed an investigation into Jaysley's death is underway and an inquest into her death is due to take place at a later date.

Her family - who have ties to Bradford in West Yorkshire and run a hotel in Cumbria - described the young woman as loving and caring.

"If there is ever a person who needs help, you could always count on Jaze to be there.

"Her compassion for others and her ability to light up the room putting a smile on anybody's face is immeasurable."

As part of Jaysley’s legacy, her family is kindly asking for donations to The Principle Trust Children's Charity.

"We believe this charity radiates the kind of positivity that Jaysley always had helping give children their dreams back," said the family.

"100 per cent of every £1 raised by the charity goes towards helping provide free holidays to underprivileged, disadvantaged and disabled children from across Yorkshire."

They added: "A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered."

The Army has confirmed an investigation into Jaysley's death is underway.

I was wrong. I read the article, and according to the autopsies, both died by hanging. That might be highlighted a little bit more.

An inquest into Gunner Beck’s death is scheduled to take place at a later date.

Lance Corporal Miah was found dead the same day she was. According to the autopsy, both died by hanging.

She could have been raped then murdered to shut her up.

Romance that went south.

Depression.

Sad story regardless.

You would be wrong. The vax is killing many but hold onto your war on drugs. It’s the Republicans way.

This piece is noticeably lacking in relevant factual information.

Average looking or stunningly beautiful, a life is a life and the family’s loss is the same.

I wonder why, in the big picture, did this make headlines? Is it just because of her looks that it is big news, or is there more to it? I doubt we will ever know.

Looks like society has made its choice, FRiend...those kinds of things are a done deal in our military.

Reality is going to be terrible when it comes to us as a nation, as it surely will.

Many young women seek the military as an outlet from a difficult and restrictive life at home.

Yes, or some other drug. I’ll wait for the autopsy.

Hemp. As in rope.

See post 22 The autopsy is in—it just wasn’t a particularly attractive part of the story so they kind of skipped over that part.

I’ll refrain from commenting.

She had a family.

“It’s depraved to put little girls in the Army and send them to artillery school. Utterly depraved.”

Yes, sir. In addition to that, it’s a national security issue. Every woman who takes a man’s place results in a decrement in the ability of our military to kill the enemy and break his things.

Funny you should point that out.   I have been all for women being in service, partly with the idea of put up or shut up.

But a few days ago I ran across an audio archive on Youtube of individual German soldiers defending the four beaches on D-day.   Just as you mentioned regarding the Pacific War island battles, their horror and fear was far beyond imagination.   Phosphorus grenades or shells in pillboxes.   Sherman 75mm main gun taking out a German 88mm anti-tank artillery gun after his lead tanks had been destroyed and crew members machine gunned while attempting to escape.   Flamethrowers torching Wehrmacht soldiers and then getting blown up moments later.   The accounts were read in English from the transcripts.

You make a plausible point.

From the headline I figured she got hit by the probe when it was launched.

Who was gunner Jaysley?(Two soldiers ‘take their own lives within hours of each other’ at Salisbury Plain military bases) Wiki, Bio, Age, Instagram, Twitter & Quick Facts
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) confirmed it was investigating the deaths, while Wiltshire Police said they did not believe there were any suspicious circumstances.

Both soldiers were hanged, according to their post-mortem examinations, which were featured in two separate investigations in Salisbury last week.

The Lance Cpl was with the Household Cavalry Regiment stationed at Kiwi Barracks in Wiltshire.

The Gunner was with 14th Regiment Royal Artillery, Royal Artillery Barracks, Larkhill, Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Wait... She died AS the probe was launched!? Is there maybe a connection?! Was she standing in the line of fire as the probe was launched?!

Stupid headline!

Well said. In nearly every country or culture, male births exceed female births by four to six percent. Think about the reason for that.

I'm trying to follow the conversation you two are conducting. Would you mind explicitly stating what it is you mean?

Thanks!

Nope. Think again. The scientific reason is not the answer.

Let's not hem and haw and beat around the bush, okay?

Please clearly state your claim.

Thanks.
