any ordinary civilian would have been wrestled to the ground, handcuffed, cell phone confiscated, and then threatened before he had a chance to assert his right to a lawyer. Apparently VIPs are treated with kid gloves, perhaps because in the courts, money talks and the cops are aware of that.

as for guilt, i would agree with others that the optics are bad if there was any frisky business going on. apparently in the movie industry there is almost always frisky business going on, usually between a higher up (often a male producer, director or lead actor) and a subordinate (often a pretty young female). i’m not sure about subordinate crew but it would fit the pattern.

even if he is innocent baldwin probably does not need bad optics right now. imho his career is dead and it would imho likely just add divorce and child custody to the mix of potential civil lawsuits. imho there is little doubt that he has been instructed on the appropriate defense strategy regarding potential subpoena of his cell phone, with the objective being not to totally deny the subpoena but to put as much time as possible between the tragedy and when the cell phone records discovery results are made public.
