Once had breakfast with him in Carmel, CA - super nice guy.

Haven't watched an NFL game in years, but this guy always stuck in my mind as one of the most iconic figures in pro football over the last half century.

lol..i remember one game...the ball carrier landed on the ball and got the wind knocked out of him...Madden said “if you’ve ever your wind knocked out of you, you’d swear its never coming back”...heh heh...so true...

He and Pat Summerall always seemed to be assigned to the NY Giants games when I watched with my dad. Madden could make a boring game entertaining. RIP.
