Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said on Wednesday that coronavirus “vaccines are saving lives” and “are reducing mortality.”
“If you are vaccinated, fully vaccinated, the chances of you getting seriously ill or dying from Covid is effectively zero,” he said. “If you look at the people being admitted to hospitals, over 95 percent of them are either not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated. And so these vaccines are saving lives.”
DeSantis also touted the vaccines for reducing mortality rates.
“They are reducing mortality. Mortality in nursing homes since we rolled out the vaccines in December is down 95 percent due to Covid. Mortality for elderly people since we rolled out the vaccines is down nearly 90 percent,” he said. “So we’re proud in Florida that we put seniors first on that list because they were the most vulnerable. We have 85 percent of our seniors that are vaccinated and about 75 percent of folks over the age of 50. We have no mandate. We’ve provided information to people and we’ve been very honest about any data that comes out.”
DeSantis acknowledged that some vaccinated people “can test positive … but they don’t get seriously ill in except maybe rare instances, there’s always one-off on stuff.”
However, continued the governor, “in Florida, your chance of surviving if you’re vaccinated is close to 100 percent.”

Oddly enough you have “close to 100% of surviving” without vaccination, and not just in Florida.
DeSantis is overselling...
I am sorry that you get all your information from world net daily, and other quack sites. But I still support your right to be wrong, and your right not to receive the vaccine.
But as Trump and now DeSantis has now done, I would encourage you to rethink your choice, if not for yourself then for those closest to you.

If you’re over 70, have co-morbidities, or are in a high-risk environment like a nursing home. It’s a good risk reward and we’ve seen good outcomes in the nursing home environments especially.
If you’re under 40 and healthy... the shots are more risky than Covid... especially Omnicron.
If you’re under 18... the shots are not a good idea at all in my opinion.
Freedom of choice is the political answer here.
I agree with him although it’s obvious the vaccines don’t totally prevent you from getting COVID. However, they may and probably do mean that you get a milder case if you get it but have been vaccinated.
But being vaccinated should be by personal or parental choice, choice, not government’s choice. What DeSantis, President Trump, and I are adamantly opposed to are mandates that force people to take the vaccine.
Reminds me of Rush saying that Amnesty Senator Rubio was a “full throated” conservative.
One has to ask then why the death rate is higher now than it was before the vaccines.

I’m hearing the same thing from doctors and nurses. 95%+ of their covid beds are unvaccinated and vaccine side effect cases are almost nothing

Agreed, good point. Some of the seriously,I’ll elderly a d disabled folks likely will benefit, even if a little (I think it cuts deaths by only 15%? In the seriously ill?, not much, but it’s something, IF they are telling the truth about that)

But I’m a COVID doctor and I have been and remain very impressed with the very large fraction of the critically ill who are unvaccinated.
That particular question: “Is there an advantage to being vaccinated IF you get infected?” has nothing to do with how I or you or anyone else feels about the Deep State.
It’s an empirical question, and it’s one that people (who absolutely should be free to choose) should be well informed about when making their decision.
For all of you DeSantis supporters thinking he was a better alternative to President Trump on this issue.

Like Trump, DeSantis has always supported getting vaccinated. Otherwise, he remains superior to Trump in every other measure.
Has anyone taken a look at the specific wording from DeSantis and Trump? Just asking…
When and until the Govt parses through the bazillion VAERS reports (raw and unfiltered data) and distills that via 3rd party regarding Jab incidents, then tell us what the risks of the Jab are, until then, wear your mask, take your experimental gene therapies and avoid the rest of us normal folks. 99.7% is good odds, but “in God we Trust” is even better.
And yes, I fully realize and accept that a common cold may kill me in a week or two, or that a meteor will hit me in the noggin or a lifesaver candy will fail, etc.
