Good luck finding a car that's more 1970s than this.
This 1978 Macho Trans Am has had its engine modified since being sold by Mecham Pontiac. (Vehicle Selling Solutions)

A 1978 Pontiac "Macho" Trans Am has been listed for sale on Ebay in Bismarck, North Dakota, but the story of the rare muscle car starts much farther south.
The car was born at the Mecham Pontiac dealership in Glendale, Arizonza, where brothers Dennis and Kyle Mecham decided to do something about the Trans Am 6.6-liter V8's malaise era power, which maxed out at just 200 hp.
The Macho T/A for sale on Ebay was the 69th of 204 built in 1978. (Vehicle Selling Solutions)

My mom’s 307 was around 73 and yellow, the car I took my drivers test. https://www.ss396.com/cars/1973-Camaro/
Late 70s Trans Am = POS
Had a friend in the Marines had a 73, dark blue, he painted the wheel wells white. Really cool looking!...............
My Dad loved fast cars.
His last car was a Z-28.
He did buy a Honda.
Second fastest street bike at the time.
He wouldnât let me touch either one.
This is the T/A my son Liam and I are working on.
The pic is a link to the latest video with the new VIOLATOR "Mufflers"

Wise man..........................
I can hear it from here!..................
Some of the best cars in the late 70's were not hot rods. I preferred the late 70's BMW 2002tii. These cars had awesome balance and handling. Rear shock mounts rusted out.
I kept having to explain to my son that although a Datsun 240Z looked cool, it is a slow piece of crap compared to an Infiniti
Almost bought a 240Z.........................
There is a video of that on his channel too but it
doesn't do it any justice... at all.

Smokey and the Bandit was one of the corniest dumbest movies ever made and makes Southerns look bad IMO.....having said that AS a Southerner I watch it every time its on. LOL!
Cars were pretty bad between 1973 and 1984. Add in many being rust buckets.
Planned obsolescence........................It was intentional.............
Yep. Very sharp. Anything black and neon trips my trigger!
I still have the issue of Hot Rod magazine I bought with the story about the “new” Macho T/A.
Where did those 43 years go?
I love those also. A senior in HS bought a brand new 78 Z , blue and he put Cragars SS on it and headers painted with white heat paint
When he went by the local hangout you could see the white headers below the car and with the blue paint and Cragars I thought it was the coolest car I had ever seen.
I feel the same way about ‘Fargo.’ Just watched it again the other night.
Pregnant Marge Gunderson is the Midwest’s Wonder Woman, IMHO. :)
“I’m not sure I agree with you a hundred percent on your police work, there, Lou.”
“OK, so we got a trooper pulls someone over, we got a shooting, these folks drive by, there’s a high-speed pursuit, ends here and then this execution-type deal.”
“Oh for pete’s sake, he’s fleeing the interview! He’s fleeing the interview!”
“And I guess that was your accomplice in the woodchipper.”
“There’s more to life than a little money, ya know. Don’tcha know that? And here ya are. And it’s a beautiful day. Well. I just don’t understand it.”
