What Languages Are Derived From Sanskrit?
“Sanskrit is related to Greek and Latin, with similarities in phonetics, grammar, and script. As one of the first languages known to humankind, Sanskrit can be traced back thousands of years, and its influence is seen in languages used around the globe.”

I read a few pages and skimmed through more, it makes for fascinating reading. I never learned any of this when I took Music History in college!
I guess I’ll have to take some of the blame, according to my DNA report, I am about 45% Greek. OOPA!
You have reason to be proud. Rumor has it the Greek philosophers invented sex.

Later on, the Italians introduced it to women. ;-)
(Not Italian, but that joke has always cracked me up)
I will have to point this out to my wife, she’s Sicilian….
You are a brave man marrying a Sicilian woman. The benefits are enormous, but so are the risks. They are like Lionesses. Gorgeous creatures with incredible spirit who feed the pack extremely well, but a bite or a swipe of a paw can put a man down. ;-)
So... throwing plates at your house is a celebration for you and a minor disagreement for the wife, eh?
LOL, no, no throwing of anything. She was born here in the US, as was I, all of our grandparents came from the”old country” and went through Ellis Island ( my how times have changed). I have a somewhat dark sense of humor at times, so every year at our anniversary, I would joke, “ ‘X’ years, and we haven’t killed each other yet”! -I would get blank stares from friends. IT’S A JOKE, PEOPLE! We were married June 6, 1981-D-Day.
40 years! Now we’re shooting for 50! We can’t live without each other!
Glad you like it!
Thanks, the “mother of tongues” claim made for Sanskrit didn’t hold up, but did show up in an episode of the original Star Trek. Hey, if it’s alright with Captain Kirk, it’s alright with me. ;^)

Looks like I’ve got some material for a new (or update to an old) topic.
