I read about the “NIATONIN” protocol and it looks easily like one of the more extreme of the prevention measures. There’s a bottle of niacin in my fridge that’s at least 15 years old. I took a single 300 mg capsule for the heckuvit yesterday, to see if it was still any good, and within 5 minutes my skin was visibly red all over, hot to the touch, and tingled. Lasted 15-20 minutes before it went away. Okay if you’re sitting around the house, but rather awkward in a working situation, I’d think!

I’ve never been tempted to take melatonin, mainly because I have zero sleeping problems to begin with, and I’m afraid it might make me comatose! Seriously, I know nothing about it and haven’t investigated or tried it.

That was a niacin flush and it’s a good thing. Your niacin is still good. The flush means you needed it. Melatonin ain’t just for sleep. You can work out your doses of niacin to melatonin so that you don’t get the flush. That’s actually the goal, but it’s different for individuals. IT’s just 2 supplements, so it sounds easy. But to find that synergy might take a little effort.
