Several Arizona law enforcement agencies are among hundreds across the country testing a new de-escalation tool straight out of a comic book that's intended to help them stop and detain people without causing pain. The BolaWrap is hand-held like a Taser, but is shaped more like a cellphone and, once it is activated, it discharges an 8-foot Kevlar cord to "restrain uncooperative suspects or nonresponsive persons in crisis from a distance," according to its website.

They need one that also forces the prisoner to tell the truth like Wonder Woman’s.

I think a fast drying glue spray would be better. Encased like a paper weight would stop them fast.

In one of Neil Stephenson’s books (The Diamond Age?), law enforcement used the loogie gun, which is about what you’d imagine.
(BTW, the dateline on the post indicates that this story is from nearly 900 years in the future.)

Is that a feature or a bug?

Have you had any personal experience with the device?

Occasionally I sew using Teflon thread on outdoor/climbing equipment.
It is incredibly strong and comes with a warning NOT to attempt to hand break the thread, it will damage your hands.
But I doubt it would hold a wild animal?
Also, a Doctor friend was working in a Chicago ER when a guy BROKE the handcuffs from behind his back!!!
The copper broke a nightstick over the guy’s head!!!
Asking around, everyone says the cuffs must have had extreme wear?

Somebody on PCP could have enough of an adrenaline dump to break the cuffs. Probably did a number on his wrists in the process.

I'm sure there's possibility for collateral injury by the pellet/barbs hitting a bystander on the right or left of of the target perp- per distance required around subject being from 2โ to 4โ. To the bystander in the wrong place at the right time, it would probably be like getting shot.
