18 holes in the pouring rain doesn’t sound very enjoyable. Then again, I was a meter reader for the local electric company some 40 years ago, and walked in all kinds of weather. The difference is that you were out there voluntarily, while it was my job to be out there.

There is a certain serenity that exists in inclement weather when nobody is around to bother you.

Oh, I hope you weren’t golfing in a lightning storm. But if you were, remember what Lee Trevino said - “even God can’t hit a 1-iron”. :)

The club has a lightning detector and the pro shop staff come looking for you if you don’t come in when the horn sounds. I’ve tried to stay out there with just a little bit of thunder but they fetch me whether I want to come in or not. Today was just a nice warm steady rain (mid-80’s) and it was very pleasant. And you’re right about the serenity. I was alone with my thoughts and prayers for a return to sanity in the world and some long-overdue big and unquestionable victories for the good guys.
