Forest management and wise water storage and use would go a long way to preventing the problems US residents will be facing should the weather be extreme.
Also, Bad weather or wildfires could cause a lot of food production and transport issues.

(My Comment) : Prepare now, because supplies will never be as cheap, or as reasonable, as they are right now due to crop shortages, or, as compounded by inflation.

Someone, I think it was greeneyes, posted a link to a video some lady did about how to store a year’s worth of food. She says it will fit under the average bed.
