Now that I think about it, we stopped texting soon after that and I did fall asleep without any problem. I was trying to nip the topic in the bud before I got too irritated. Stopping the conversation completely was an extra bonus. LOL
And now for your dining and dancing pleasure, a bit different video from P6 in quarantine, all the way from Hong Kong. A building across the harbor from where he’s staying puts on a light show at night and he streamed it earlier. It’s about 21 minutes long.

Save $0.16 With Biden’s Independence Day ‘Cookout’ Menu: Bowl of Ground Beef, Sliced Cheese, Pork & Beans, Vanilla Ice Cream
The Biden White House shared an animated image to Twitter insisting that the price of a “July 4th Cookout” is down precisely $0.16 from 2020, however, the menu at Joe Biden’s celebratory dinner may differ from what Americans expect.
For example, there are no steaks on the menu. Steak prices are heavily on the rise in 2021, so instead, Biden’s White House replaces them with pork chops. Hot dogs are also off the menu – despite the Biden White House mentioning them within the text of his post – as the price of hot dogs too seems to be on the rise. Fortunately, a hearty can pork and beans, plain vanilla ice cream, lemonade, and potato chips remain on the menu.
Unfortunately, there will be no burgers on the 4th of July at Biden’s “cookout”. Instead, revelers are invited to eat a bowl of plain ground beef. Fear not, however, for “sliced cheese” – it appears to be American – is still on the menu, perhaps to be eaten alone, or perhaps melted atop a Biden-approved pork chop. It is unclear why these two elements to a classic American cheeseburger are on the menu, but the burger itself is not, however, the cost of lettuce lettuce – a customary topping – is currently skyrocketing. The burger would also have to be eaten sans bun in order to be cheaper than it was in 2020, as the price of bread has steadily risen over the year.

I just read this about American families and found it very difficult to believe. When I look around my small corner of the world, it seems to me that the opposite is true. Kids are being born all over the place and people don’t seem to marry these days....just pop out the kids. 70% of kids now in traditional, two married parent homes? Not up this way.

Judy, what is going on in Canada?!?!?!
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3972796/posts
When it comes to government control, there is usually a slippery slope into the depths of authoritarianism.
Canadian Minister of Justice and Attorney General David Lametti recently introduced Bill C-36 to Parliament, titled “An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Canadian Human Rights Act and to make related amendments to another Act (hate propaganda, hate crimes and hate speech).”
If the name was not obvious enough, this is code for censoring speech the Canadian government does not agree with.
The bill, if passed, would allow the government to fine its own citizens for content that violates their definition of hate speech.
Liberal darling Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is more than likely behind this attack on freedom of expression, which was once considered a hallmark of the Western world.

I think it depends on where the people surveyed live. Would be good if true.
That is so creative!
Time Magazine: How to fix the “air conditioning problem”
The troubled history of air-conditioning suggests not that we chuck it entirely but that we focus on public cooling, on public comfort, rather than individual cooling, on individual comfort. Ensuring that the most vulnerable among the planet’s human inhabitants can keep cool through better access to public cooling centers, shade-giving trees, safe green spaces, water infrastructure to cool, and smart design will not only enrich our cities overall, it will lower the temperature for everyone. It’s far more efficient this way.
To do so, we’ll have to re-orient ourselves to the meaning of air-conditioning. And to comfort. Privatized air-conditioning survived the ozone crisis, but its power to separate—by class, by race, by nation, by ability—has survived, too. Comfort for some comes at the expense of the life on this planet.
It’s time we become more comfortable with discomfort. Our survival may depend on it.
So there’s the answer. Air conditioning is on the climate change naughty list, so it needs to go. No, we’re not going to offer you a more climate-friendly way to cool your home. You just need to ditch your AC and get used to being hot and sweaty. For the good of the planet.
In the meantime, there are a couple of innovative ideas out there for home cooling that you might want to look into. One possibility might be to consider building a swamp cooler. (You can watch a video on how to build one for yourself.) It works on the principle of evaporative cooling and having one can cool off a room pretty effectively. The only problem is that you need to be in a relatively dry environment for it to work efficiently because it releases water vapor into the air. It’s great in the desert southwest, but if you are in an area where the humidity is already near maximum, it won’t do much for you.

ICE agents, sheriffs sue Biden administration over limiting deportations
Texas sheriffs sued the Biden administration for limiting deportations. A group of active Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers joined in the lawsuit. They claim that the Biden administration’s policy increases crime-response costs. Those who are released from jail go on to commit more crimes.
The ICE agents just want to do their jobs. They say that Biden’s policy is preventing them from apprehending illegal immigrants though it is mandated in the Immigration and Nationality Act. Biden’s policy leads to a decline in ICE arrests, which is Biden’s goal, and as a result, in April 2021, ICE carried out fewer than 3,000 arrests. That is the lowest number on record.
The lawsuit cites examples of sexual assault to minors and reckless behavior endangering the life of a baby as examples of criminals who were allowed to avoid deportation.

Cat's cuter.
Awful dress. For her anyway.
