Trust in the FBI cannot be regained until there is a reckoning. That can only come through accountability for bad actors.
Newsmax released an article this week that gives voice to further distrust of America’s once-premiere law enforcement agency. The column was based on a series of questions and concerns presented by Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) regarding the still murky details around the January 6th storming of the Capitol building. Two questions lobbed at the FBI are both haunting and disheartening:
“What did the FBI know? And when did they know it?”
The fact that the agency responsible for investigating the lawlessness of that date is itself under scrutiny is alarming. Regardless of how one feels about Americans -- patriots or paid agitators -- entering the Capitol building illegally is not germane to the questions surrounding the supposedly objective pursuit of justice by sworn law enforcement officers. Gaetz’s most damning volley came when he suggested the FBI is no longer acting under the auspices of their original mission and has taken the dubious position of engaging in political policing. If remotely true, it would seem to represent the final nail in the coffin for any chance at repairing the integrity of a federal investigative agency.
And that sentiment is not solely the domain of the congressman from Florida. A Pew Research study released last month demonstrated a sharp decline in trust in the government from a high of seventy-seven percent in 1964 to a low that has remained under twenty-five percent since 2007. If three-quarters of Americans have spent the last fourteen years distrusting the government at large, what does that say about the agencies entrusted with justice and public safety? Former FBI Director James Comey attempted to lay the mistrust at President Trump’s doorstep.

Of course I’m sure all those appointed and higher ups never had to take the lie detector just the grunts starting at the bottom.
We shouldn’t trust ANY Federal government agency. The Federal government, and all its agencies, are the enemy of the American people.
Ever since J Edgar Hoover, and maybe earlier, the FBI has not been trustworthy. It must be disbanded.

How do I regain trust in my government... that collection of partisan politicians, jurists, bureaucrats and civil “servants” that comprise the federal, state, county and municipal levels of extortionistic muscle?
7. Make most of what remains work from home and do their meetings virtually.
8. Broadcast anything not involving national security on a big screen TV accessible to tourists at their former places of work.
9. Turn all the government offices and cubes thus vacated into modestly priced hotel rooms for tourists.
10. Turn the mall, the monuments, museums and immediate area into the newest National Park, retrocede the remainder to the State of Maryland and repeal the 23rd Amendment.
A stupid question. “How Do We Regain Trust in the FBI?” It’s their responsibility to regain out trust, not the other way around.

Disband all fed law enforcement agencies except BP and Marshals.
Are you kidding? Do you really think US Marshalls ware any different? They just haven’t been in the news yet.
Shut it down, start a different agency to pick up the mission in a remote red state.

The collapse of the Soviet Union, East Germany, et al allowed the massive state security force leaders and administrators to fade into general population without being held account, left to walk to and fro upon the earth. No indictments, no trials, nada.
They were guilty of far more heinous crimes than our current counterparts.
Merely abolishing the agencies allows them golden parachutes and new jobs in the corporate and NGO globalist organizations. Just as the FBI and. BATF, and dem AGs, Reno, Holder and others were allowed to slip away to continue their malicious efforts.
Trials and public hangings must be on the to do list. Treason as defined in 18 U.S. Code § 2381.

Never mind about regaining trust. The FBI has been marginally criminal since the 1930s if not before. Now it is an enemy of popular government and is conducting quite sophisticated counterinsurgency operations against a majority of the American nation, which it identifies as insurgents or insurrectionists.
It has to be put down.
