The "No PFAS in Cosmetics Act" is scheduled to be introduced in the US House and Senate on Tuesday, following the release of a new study that found high levels of a marker for toxic PFAS substances in 52% of 231 makeup products purchased in the United States and Canada.
Some of the highest levels were found in foundations (63%), waterproof mascara (82%) and long-lasting lipstick (62%), according to the study published Tuesday in the journal Environmental Science & Technology Letters.

Sounds like the joker from Batman 1989
Er, okay. PFAS. Almost the same....
Coconut Oil is the best nutrient for your complexion.
Apply during daylight hours, not at night.
Allow your face to breath while you sleep.
Also prevents barnacles ... you’ve never seen a barnacle on a coconut have you?
Well. Once
Ah, those are clams!
Not surprising, sodium lauryl sulfate has been in most make up and hair products for many years. If I remember correctly it was known to be a problem long ago, causes cancer I think. Then again, MSG, monosodium glutamate, has been known to be seriously addicting and cause health problems for many years and its hard to find processed food without it. The FDA, supposed to be protecting us from such predatory marketing practices, is actually helping them get away with it.
A little off topic - I’ve noticed over the years the few women I’ve known who never used make up, or very little of it, almost always age much more...gracefully...shall we say, than women who pile it on with a putty knife. Women who use plenty make up invariably get to 60 or so and get really wrinkly. Those who shun make up develop fewer and lighter wrinkles, and much later in age.
My mother used almost no make up, when my sister was 35 they were still able to pass for sisters. most people who met them in grocery stores etc thought they were sisters. My sister and her daughter, same thing. Her daughters both wear little make up, something they picked up from her, and the same is happening, until my sister was around 60 she could still pass for their sister.
A girl I dated 20 years ago, same story. She almost never used make up, usually just a little lipstick if anything, she was well over 50 and most people thought she was maybe 30. I’ve seen the same over and over.
So in addition to things like causing cancer, make up or the ingredients in it also seem to be accelerating the aging process.
I don’t claim this is a scientific study...then again it’s more scientific than anything I’ve seen yet about the farce we know as “climate change”...
Kardashian’s hardest hit.
Why is everyone out to shoot down my joke?
"Potentially toxic"
Got enough weasel words there?
Just ban it and then we can find out what’s in it.
so... you are saying your face doesn’t need to breath during daytime - ok.
Its the primary constituent of almost all shampoos. Has been for decades. So condidering the millions of people who have been using it several times a week wouldn't we see bazillion cases of scalp cancer?
Nope.
I have to admit, it’s all pretty funny.
