I agree.
Neither should anyone without children.
In both cases, why pay for something they will never use?

Do these people not have grandchildren or nieces and nephews ?
Our issues should not be the tax but HOW the taxes are spent. Even if we don’t have school age children we need to be more involved with local government and schools.
We as citizens dropped the ball a long time ago and left the governing to others. We need to take back the control.
Colleges of education have been controlled and run by commies for at least a couple three decades. Just to qualify to get a job as a teacher in public school means being indoctrinated heavily. Such edcuation colleges weed out cognitive thinkers, they are failed if they express non-commie viewpoints. A few good ones manage to sneak through but it’s rare. There are two teachers’ unions and IIRC one is pure evil and the other may not be so bad.
One problem is unions should not be permitted for any profression that is paid via tax $. Used to be that way. Would solve a lot of problems overnight.
I agree with you. My children are grown, and I have grandchildren, but even if I had never had children, it is in my interest to have the schools assist parents in developing good citizens who will contribute to the public good.
Unfortunately, this is not happening any more in most schools apparently, but this is the way it should work.
School districts have to spend so much money to accommodate illegals and refugees, at the expense of of “our” kids getting a decent education. So much money also wasted teaching about sex and how bad this country is. Those are the things I don’t want my tax money going to.
