The does all around us are wont to start stomping their front legs when you get nearby. If you yell at them, they take off. They are a lot less prone to taking off when the babies arrive. Mama dropped this baby on our property three years ago (June 16, 2018). She was off foraging during the day and she didn't hide this one very well.
We are overrun by these critters, so there are few plants I can grow in the garden unless I put down deer spray every week or so.
